Paper Size Reference

Common metric sheet dimensions and practical imposition notes.

When this matters

Use this reference before committing a file, quote, or production instruction. It makes the assumptions visible before they become a press-side surprise.

Practical method

  1. Start with the finished requirement and its unit.
  2. Record the material, allowances, and production constraint.
  3. Calculate with one consistent unit system.
  4. Review the result with the printer’s specification.

Worked example

A small commercial job should be checked from stock through layout and final dimensions. Record each input so another operator can reproduce the estimate.

Common mistakes

Mixing units, omitting bleed or gripper space, and treating an estimate as a press-ready instruction are frequent avoidable errors.
